VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

We welcome volunteers to support our programs and initiatives.

We have ongoing volunteer opportunities as well as those for occasional or periodic events.

 

 

Women’s Centre Volunteer

The Campbell River Women's Centre is a drop-in space offering a refuge for women and children. We provide basic needs such as clothing, toiletries, snacks, access to phone and computer, as well as counselling, advocacy, social, educational and referral services.

Volunteers assist with the sorting and placement of donations, light housekeeping and assisting staff to support women as needed.

The Women’s Centre is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:00 to 2:00 pm. Volunteer shifts are usually 1 to 4 hours depending on your availability.

We ask that you commit to a regular schedule of at least two volunteers shifts per month or weekly shifts if possible.

Additional requirements include the ability to work well in a busy environment, multitask, and complete a criminal record check (no cost).

Thrift Store Donation/Receiving Volunteer

Thrift Store donation/receiving volunteer is a position that receives, organizes, and prepares donations for sale in the Transitions Furniture and More Store.

This is a rewarding volunteer experience for a service-oriented person who wants to make a difference in our thrift store. All proceeds go directly to programs and services provides by CRNITS.

We ask that you commit to a regular schedule of at least two volunteers shifts per month. Shifts are from 1 – 6 hours, depending on volunteer’s availability.

Additional requirements include the ability to work well in a busy environment, multitask, and have fun.

Event Volunteer - Occasional Opportunities through-out the year

Each year, the Campbell River and North Island Transition Society holds various events to help support our purpose including the Coldest Night of the Year and the Annual Charity "Drive Away Domestic Violence" Golf Tournament, as well as several smaller events.

In order for these events to be a success WE NEED Volunteers! Each event has different roles and there is always something for everyone!  If you like people and busy environment or prefer a quieter time giving back, we can match you with the right role. This is a chance to bring your talents and enjoy a fun activity, all while supporting a worthy cause!
